long range solid state electric motorcycle

Verge Motorcycles has revealed what could be the most groundbreaking development in electric transportation this decade. At CES 2026, the company will debut its updated TS Pro model featuring the world’s first production solid-state battery motorcycle.

The revolutionary bike will be powered by Donut Lab‘s all-solid-state “Donut Battery,” which boasts an impressive energy density of approximately 400 Wh/kg. This markedly outperforms today’s leading lithium-ion batteries that typically reach just 250-300 Wh/kg.

The new TS Pro model delivers an exceptional 600 km (370 miles) range on a single charge under combined riding conditions. Its 22 kWh battery pack supports ultra-fast DC charging up to 200 kW, allowing riders to fully charge from 0-100% in roughly 10 minutes.

Range anxiety vanishes with 370 miles per charge and a remarkable 10-minute full recharge from Verge’s revolutionary battery technology.

Verge claims the motorcycle can gain up to 60 km of range per minute of charging when connected to high-power DC infrastructure. This represents a major leap over current electric motorcycles that often require between 45-120 minutes for an 80% charge.

The bike features Verge’s signature hubless in-wheel rear motor design, which eliminates the need for a conventional rear hub and drivetrain. This innovative approach centralizes mass in the rim area and creates more space for the solid-state battery pack. The redesigned Donut 2.0 motor is 50% lighter than previous versions while delivering up to 1,000 Nm of torque.

Safety improvements are equally impressive. The solid electrolyte configuration removes flammable liquid, substantially reducing fire risk compared to conventional lithium-ion packs. The battery also operates stably across wider temperature ranges, improving cold-weather performance. The company’s collaboration with Donut Lab has been instrumental in achieving these significant safety advancements.

Perhaps most remarkable is the battery’s durability. Donut Lab targets up to 100,000 full charge cycles without limiting state of charge to 80%. This means the battery pack could last for the entire operational life of the motorcycle, eliminating the need for costly replacements.

With this launch, Verge positions itself as the first manufacturer to implement solid-state battery technology in a production motorcycle, beating major automakers who have kept similar technology at concept or prototype stages for years.
