The o1-preview generates responses at 151.3 tokens per second while o1-mini reaches 237 tokens per second, making them surprisingly fast despite their focus on complex reasoning.

All current models contain information only up to October 2023 or earlier. They can’t provide facts about recent events without additional data. GPT-4o integrates text, voice, and vision processing in one system. It handles data extraction, classification, and reasoning tasks well.

Model selection affects both performance and cost. GPT-4o works best for applications needing speed and accuracy. GPT-4o mini suits projects with tight budgets. GPT-4.5 handles nuanced conversations and complex analysis tasks. The o1 series targets technical problem-solving.
