Claude AI has many settings that let users control how the app looks and works. Users can find these settings by clicking their profile icon or name in the bottom left sidebar. A dropdown menu appears, and selecting “Settings” opens a panel or page without leaving the current workspace. If any options appear grayed out, it means an admin has locked those settings.
Clicking your profile icon in the bottom left sidebar reveals a Settings option that opens without leaving your current workspace.
Inside the general section, users can update their full name and set a preferred name for Claude to use. The appearance section lets users switch between light and dark themes. Font options are also available for people who want easier readability. All changes save automatically, so there’s no need to hit a save button.
The privacy section gives users control over their data. They can toggle whether their activity helps improve Claude’s AI model. Users can also make their profile public or private and manage whether location data gets attached to their activity. These controls are found by exploring the Privacy option in the settings menu.
Memory features are another tool available in settings. By default, this feature is turned off. When users turn it on, Claude can remember context from past conversations. This means future chats can feel more personalized. The option is found under Capabilities in the settings panel.
The Capabilities section also holds other features that many users don’t notice. Custom styles for output formatting can be enabled there. Artifacts for interactive content and a feature called Dispatch for task delegation are also available as toggles.
For users who want to connect other apps, there’s a Connectors tab in settings. Options like Gmail allow Claude to help with reading and drafting emails. The tab also includes sections for skills and plugins. Connectors also support integration with platforms like Notion and Google Drive, allowing Claude to create pages and manage tasks directly.
Developers have additional options through plugins and code settings. A plugin marketplace is accessible using the command “/plugin marketplace add.” Users can also add tools like claude-code-settings for development work. Individual skills such as codex-skill and autonomous-skill are available. GitHub integration and knowledge management tools are also supported through this system. The PDF viewer plugin allows users to view, annotate, and sign PDFs directly within the app using a dedicated slash command.
